About Me
I graduated cum laude from South Texas College of Law, in Houston, Texas, in 2013. After passing the Texas BAR exam, I began my legal career as an associate attorney in 2017.
Throughout my career, I have primarily been doing legal research and writing for cases in Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas (Administrative Procedure Act Claims, Habeas Petitions, and a Class Action Lawsuit), the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, various Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to my legal research and writing, I have also represented clients (in person) in Immigration Courts, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
My notable cases include: Duarte v. Mayorkas, 27 F.4th 1044 (5th Cir. 2022), which resulted in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals radically altering the way that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services interpreted the statutes relating to Temporary Protected Status (TPS); and Turcios v. Wolf, No. 1:20-CV-00093, 2020 WL 10788713 (S.D. Tex. Oct. 16, 2020), which resulted in the U.S. government being forced to allow a family whose lives were in danger to cross the U.S. border and be reunited with their family members in Texas, because their forceful expulsion to Mexico under the Migrant Protection Protocols was found to be invalid.
I believe that due to my experience in almost every aspect of U.S. Immigration Law, I am well-qualified to do legal research and writing for any lawyer or law firm in the United States. I will always do my very best to provide exemplary results for any lawyer or law firm that retains my services. At present, I have done legal independent contracting work for several law firms in Houston, Texas, including: Naimeh Salem & Associates, PLLC; The Law Office of Francisco Fernandez; Pereira Law Firm, PLLC; and The Quijano Law Firm.
